Private Detective: Police Believe Two Overnight Robberies Are Connected

Police believe two overnight robberies could be connected.

The first happened around 11:15 p.m. on Bishop Drive. The victim told police that he was approached by two men, one of them with a gun, who demanded his wallet and keys.

The suspects then got into a Beige Nissan Sentra and drove off.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

A second victim then phoned police at the Marathon at New Circle and Russell Cave Road saying he too had been robbed. Police say they have reason to believe the same duo is behind both cases.

Police describe the suspects as about six feet tall, one wearing a gray hoodie and jeans, the other wearing a grey tank top and jeans and had shoulder length dreads.

No arrests have been made at this time. If you have information in either case, contact police.

Private Detective: FBI Believes Conn is Still In The U.S.

After a raid at the law offices of Eric C. Conn turned up new evidence for federal investigators, the FBI held a press conference to announce that they believe he is still in the United States and that family members may be charged in the case.

Conn pleaded guilty in a multi-million dollar social security disability scheme and immediately went on the run before sentencing. His ankle monitor was found discarded on I-75 when he was allegedly coming to consult with his attorney about testifying in the trial of a co-conspirator.

Agents removed electronics and other items from his offices and his mother’s home during an investigation Thursday.  A vehicle, believed to have possibly been involved in his escape, was searched.

Someone claiming to be Conn sent cryptic faxes to several media outlets and attorney Ned Pillersdorf, who is representing many of the clients whose disability benefits were suspended as a result of the federal investigation.

The Lexington Herald-Leader reported that Conn sent them terms for surrender including not being charged with fleeing.

Conn’s attorney, Scott White, told The Associated Press on Sunday that he also received an email with some of the same details and is convinced it was from his client due in part to Conn’s particular style of writing. He added that “my certainty is 99 percent.” White said the terms outlined in both the email to him and to the newspaper were identical, adding that “sealed it for me.”

A $20,000 reward has been offered for information leading authorities to Conn, who pleaded guilty in March to stealing from the federal government and bribing a judge. He faces up to 12 years in prison and has agreed to pay the government tens of millions of dollars.

The FBI says that the likelihood of charges for fleeing increase every day.

Private Detective: Laurel County Fairgrounds Property Stolen

Less than a month away from their county fair, $20,000 worth of Laurel County Fairgrounds’ property has been stolen and destroyed.

As crews try to repair and replace the property with a very limited budget, the fairground manager says he and law enforcement are looking for the perpetrators.

Fairground Manager Jimmy Durham said that the perpetrators snuck onto the fairgrounds and hopped on a tractor before ramming the fairgrounds garage door down to take high-value property over the weekend.

http://liarcatchers.com/contact.php

Durham said they stole a four-wheeler, a John Deere field rake, tables, a JVL sound system, ladders, water hoses, extension cords, and everyday tools.

To keep this financial setback from happening again, Durham said they’re installing plenty of security systems and alarms next week.

“I guess we can say we’re going to invite criminal activity from now on, cause we will have you on camera, or we will have a picture of you somehow,” he said.

The Laurel County Fair will be July 10, so there is no time to waste.

“We’ll have twenty-something thousand people here that week. We got to get these things fixed and ready to go because it’s fair time,” he said.

The fairgrounds crew is offering a $1,000 reward for information that can lead to an arrest. If you have any information, you are asked to contact the Laurel County Sheriff’s Office.
