Private Detective: Lexington Police Searching For Suspects in Early Morning Home Invasion

Lexington Police are trying to track down two people after a frightening early morning home invasion.

It happened around 1:00 a.m. Monday on Sherard Circle. The homeowner spoke to LEX 18 and she believes she may know who did it.

Two men barged in, put a gun to her head and told her to get on the ground. They then went upstairs and woke up her son, grandson, and his other grandmother. The suspects told them they wanted cash.

“They were like, ‘Where is the money? Where is the money? And I’m not going to say it anymore, where is the money?’ I said, ‘I told you guys there’s no money here, so they said to get in the bathroom, ‘Everybody get into the bathroom,'” says Decoma Walker.

The two men locked her family in the bathroom. The thieves made off with a few articles of clothing and a jewelry box. After the men left, police tell us the victims were able to escape the bathroom to call for help. They also used K9s in the search, but could not find the perpetrators.

Later a teenager was questioned for being out after curfew, Walker says if it was him. It’s heartbreaking to think a teenager could be capable of such a violent crime.

“I was just scared. I don’t know what I was thinking at the time, just that they didn’t hurt us,” says Walker.

Walker hopes those who did this will be held responsible.
