The woman accused of placing her baby in a plastic bag, allegedly told police she had intended to throw the infant in the trash.

Haney told police that she didn’t know that she was pregnant. She gave birth in a toilet and told police she left the boy in the toilet for 15 minutes before putting him in the bag. Her roommate heard the cries of the infant and called authorities.

An affidavit released by authorities states, “The mother of the infant had advised that she intended to dispose of the child in the trash can.”
Haney’s bond was set at $100,000 cash. Her preliminary hearing will be January 21 at 1:30 p.m.

The infant is at Clark Memorial Hospital in stable condition.
