Private Detective: Camera Found in Corbin High School Bathroom

Corbin police continue working to find the person who put a camera in a high school bathroom.

Somebody noticed an object looking out of place in a bathroom used by both male and female faculty at Corbin High School. Police say it looked like a smoke detector, but a camera that saves pictures on a memory card rested inside.

Corbin Schools Superintendent Ed McNeel says security checked all of the schools for similar devices and didn’t find anything. He say he hopes the high school’s own security system will turn up a lead.

“We have our own cameras in the hallway that show who was in the hallway and who went into the restroom, and that’s all been turned over to law enforcement. And we sure hope they find enough evidence to find the person who did this,” he said.

Corbin police sent the camera to the Kentucky State Police Crime Lab for forensic analysis.

They say if caught, the person who planted the camera could face voyeurism charges.
