Wrongful Death Scott Co. Woman Sentenced to 30 Years For Murder

The Scott County woman convicted of wanton murder in the stabbing death of her boyfriend was sentenced Friday.

Mindy Turner was given thirty years in the murder of her boyfriend. She was facing life in prison.

Turner stabbed Max Pomeroy Jr. back in 2010. Police say she stabbed him twice: once in the back and once in the heart. She originally told police that three intruders committed the crime.

Pomeroy’s mother explained to the jury what her life is like without her son.

“As a mother i will never wish this on another mother. I’ve had to watch my husband cry and watch my children cry, crying,” Gale Pomeroy told the jury.

Turner was also facing a sentence for being a persistent felony offender, but the court ruled to give her no more than 30 years.

Formal sentencing will be held March 4, 2016.
