Missing Person Christina Tarver of Center, TX

Texas Rangers have joined the search for a young woman who has been missing from Shelby County for nine days.

Christina “Chrisi” Tarver, 18, was last seen about 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 10 at the home she shared with her mother on Shelby County Road 3047 near Center. The mother, Larenda Murphy, told authorities she got a Facebook message three hours later saying her daughter had left with friends and was OK. Tarver has not been seen since.

Authorities said friends of Tarver they have contacted do not know where she is.

Shelby Sheriff’s Deputy Jim Ed Matthews said Tarver recently turned 18 and had just moved back home after living in Lufkin.

Friends of Tarver’s family said Tarver did not take extra clothes nor her cell phone with her.

Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Leah Chase said Tarver had no history of being a runaway.

“There is no foul play suspected,” Chase said. “At this time, she has basically left home and they have reported her as a missing person.”

Tarver is 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighs 140 pounds and has hazel eyes and dirty blonde hair. She has freckles on her face and nose, and tattoos on her right shoulder and right wrist.

Anyone with any information on Tarver should contact the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office at (936) 598-5601.
