Private Detective: Police Looking For Threatening Robber

Police are looking for a man who made some frightening threats during two gas station robberies.

The man didn’t attempt to cover his face during the robberies, but he was wearing a baseball cap.

Police say that first, he robbed the Speedway on Leestown Road. During that robbery, he threatened the clerk with a gun and demanded cash.

The next day, police say the same man showed up at the Thornton’s on Georgetown Road. This time, police say he took it a step further.

“He comes into this gas station, and he goes to the clerk and he actually tells her that if she does not give him the money quickly, he’s going to shoot someone else in the store; a customer,” said Detective Mark Thomas with the Lexington Police Department. “To us, that’s certainly a heightened level of violence or at least a threat for violence.”

Police say that in both robberies, the man entered the store calmly before pulling a gun from his waistband.
