Private Detective Man Accused of Duct-Taping Woman Indicted

The Madison County man police say duct-taped a woman to a pole for nine hours and beat her has been indicted by a grand jury.

James Foster, 38, was arrested in November. According to police, the woman says Foster accused her of stealing meth he was making then taped her hands to a pole. He also taped her mouth shut.

Investigators say the woman called police after Foster let her go.

Foster faces several charges, including assault. He will be arraigned January 17.

Pedophile Tracking Ft. Carson Officer Charged

A Fort Carson officer accused of preying on more than a dozen young girls in the Colorado Springs area was arrested in Colorado Wednesday afternoon on a warrant alleging similar offenses in his native Alabama.

Lt. Aaron Lucas, 31, was arrested on a warrant by the Madison Police Department in an alleged 2002 offense. The warrant is alleges two offenses, enticing a child and sexual child abuse of a child less than 12 years old, according to a media release from Fort Carson.

Lucas was initially arrested by Army investigators on Oct. 23 in connection with an El Paso County kidnapping case and a separate enticement of a child case, both allegedly took place in 2012.

He has since been accused of a string of Colorado offenses dating back to 2009, including aggravated sexual assault on a child, kidnapping, enticement, indecent exposure and attempted sexual assault on a child.

In cases that have been publicized, Lucas allegedly drove near schools and tried to grab girls off the streets.

Lucas has been free since Nov. 9 on $80,000 bond.

A commissioned officer, Lucas is a field artilleryman from Huntsville, Ala., who enlisted in the Army Reserve in March 2007, transferred to the Alabama Army National Guard and then to active duty in June 2009. He was assigned to Fort Carson in November 2009.

He received the Bronze Star for valor during a deployment to Afghanistan, according to Fort Carson.

Missing Person Michael Steven Poe of Clarksburg, MD

Montgomery County Police are searching for a man that they say was last seen at an Adams Morgan bar on New Year’s Eve:

Michael Steven Poe, age 23, of the 22900 block of Peach Tree Road in Clarksburg, was last seen at approximately 12:30 a.m. on January 1 at Shenanigans Bar in the Adams Morgan area of DC. Poe was with friends at that time. The group then split up, and Poe never returned from DC. He was last heard from via cell phone at approximately 2:30 a.m. on January 1.

Poe is described as a white male, 5’11″ tall, and weighing approximately 175 pounds. He has red hair and hazel eyes. It is unknown what type of clothing he was last seen wearing.

Family and friends are concerned for Poe’s welfare as he has not had contact with them since the early morning of January 1.

Identity Theft Woodburn, OR Bookkeeper Arrested

A Woodburn bookkeeper was arrested for identity theft and computer crimes for using company funds to pay her personal bills Wednesday evening, officials said.

On several occasions since 2009, Jessica Lynn Koch used a company credit card to pay her bills online and used a company check to pay for her utility bills, said Marion County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Don Thomson. Loss to the company was $3,200, he said.

Koch was cited for 31 counts of identity theft, 2 counts of theft and 11 counts of computer crime. Koch had no prior criminal record.

The 37-year-old worked as a bookkeeper for Bear Electric in Donald from 2006-12. A three-month investigation into missing money at Bear revealed the thefts after she left the company in June, Thomson said.

Koch will appear in Marion County Circuit Court on February 6

Insurance Fraud Durham Resident Files False Claim for Engagement Ring

RALEIGH — A former Durham resident has been charged by the North Carolina Department of Insurance for making a false insurance claim in the case of an engagement ring.

Nathan Daniel Cooperman, 40, of 218 First Avenue, New York, N.Y., has been charged with one count each of insurance fraud and obtaining property under false pretense, according to a news release from the Department of Insurance.

Department of Insurance investigators allege that, on Aug. 25, 2007, Cooperman submitted a false claim to Travelers Claims Hartford Auto for the loss of a $50,000 engagement ring stolen during a burglary of his Durham residence.

Cooperman settled with his insurance company for $49,200.

Investigators said Cooperman’s ex-fiancé, who still had the engagement ring, reported the malfeasance.

Cooperman was arrested Jan. 2 and is being held by the New York Police Department while he awaits extradition back to North Carolina to stand trial.

Pedophile Tracking Burlington Teen Charged

BURLINGTON, N.C. — A Burlington teenager has been charged with dozens of child sex offenses.

Larry Ray Mitchell, 18, of Alyece Court, is charged with 19 counts of disseminating obscenity, 17 counts of third-degree exploitation of a minor and 13 counts of first-degree exploitation of a minor.

Deputies with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office say the charges are part of an ongoing investigation. Additional charges were filed against the suspect on Dec. 7.

Deputies say the suspect was arrested and placed under an initial secured bond of $225,000 pending his first court appearance.

Missing Person Enfinity A Johnson of Tallahassee

The Tallahassee Police Department is searching for Enfinity A. Johnson who was last seen at 2 p.m. on New Year’s Eve.

She was last seen on the 2200 block of Hartsfield Road wearing a black t-shirt with colorful writing, blue jeans and black Converse shoes. Johnson is 5-foot-4, weighs 90 pounds and has black hair and brown eyes.

Cold Case Warrant Issued in 1998 Bowling Green Murder Case

The Bowling Green Police Department has obtained a warrant for a 1998 cold-case murder.

On November 10, 1998, the Bowling Green Police Department investigated the disappearance of Carol Marie Neal, 30, from her residence on Shawnee Drive. Evidence in Neal’s residence led police to believe Neal had been murdered.

Bowling Green Police Department detectives have asked for and received a warrant, from Commonwealth Attorney Chris Cohron for the arrest of Leland B. Neal, Jr., the estranged husband of Carol Neal.

The whereabouts of Neal, Jr. are not known at this time.

Identity Theft PA State Police Looking for Suspect

Pennsylvania State Police are looking for a man that used a stolen identity to purchase almost $4,500 in gift cards. Mary Lasky of Brooklyn, New York, lost her wallet at the Cumberland Valley Service Plaza on the Turnpike in Cumberland County during the afternoon on December 30th.

The suspect, a black male in his 40′s with graying hair, took the wallet and proceeded to use Lasky’s credit cards at Jo-Ann Fabrics in Lemoyne and a CVS in York. Numerous gift cards were purchased from Nordstrom, American Express, Visa and Mastercard.

Wrongful Death Man Sentenced for 2005 Double Murder

A man convicted for his role in a 2005 Fleming County double murder was sentenced in the case Wednesday morning.

Ronald Fairchild was found guilty back in December of robbery, burglary and two counts of murder in the deaths of Marlene Mauk and Donald Walker. The couple was killed inside Walker’s Fleming County home.

Fairchild was sentenced to 27.5 years in prison, and wll be eligible for parole in 12 years.

Two other men, Rodney Dodson and Jason Jackson, pleaded guilty to murder charges in September. In December, Dodson was sentenced to 21 years in prison while Jackson was sentenced to life without parole.
