Missing Person Myra Lewis Still Missing After 45 Days

Two-year-old Myra Lewis has been missing for over 45 days and Madison County Sheriff Randy Tucker said the investigation has hit a dead-end.

He held a press conference April 10 urging the media to keep Lewis in the news and continue to circulate her photo.

“This is a plea to keep her name out there and picture out there,” he said. “Nothing has really changed. We’ve followed dozens of leads to dead ends and we don’t really have any investigatory route to follow.”

Tucker said someone has to know either what happened to Lewis or where she went. He said his office has fielded a leads from a dozen states, some as far away as Washington.

“As far as investigations, we are still looking at phone records,” he said. “We still talk to family members when we can. We still receive and investigate tips to make sure there’s nothing overlooked.”

He added, “This is the most bizarre case we’ve ever worked.”

Lewis was last seen wearing a turquoise sweater with a bear print, off-white pants and pink shoes. She was first reported missing to authorities at 4 p.m. on March 1, but her mother, Ericka Lewis, told law enforcement she was last seen at 10 a.m.

Since then, thousands of man hours have been spent searching and following leads into Myra’s disappearance. Heavy equipment was used to search a septic tank on the property. Over 100 law enforcement personnel from multiple agencies scoured several square miles around the family home using grid searches.

A $20,000 reward is still being offered by the FBI for information relating to the disappearance of Myra.

Myra’s mother remains locked up at the Madison County Detention Center on an unrelated charge.

Ericka Lewis was arrested on March 8 by the sheriff’s department for being a felon in possession of a firearm. Her previous conviction was for welfare fraud. A probation revocation hearing is scheduled for May 19.

Ericka Lewis has three probation violations pending, including the firearm possession, failure to pay court costs, and failure to pay supervision fees.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS.
