Wrongful Death Fourth Suspect in Toddler Shooting Turns Self In

A fourth man wanted in connection to the murder of a Louisville toddler last month has surrendered to police.

An arrest warrant was issued for 19-year-old Demarkus Tramber Monday in the Aug. 27 shooting that killed 16-month-old Ne’riah Miller and injured her mother, Cierra Twyman, who was holding the child on their front porch on South 37th Street in Louisville.

Twyman was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Three other men, William McLemore, Trey Anderson and Michael Dunn have entered not guilty pleas in the case.

Not many other details have been released about the case and the men’s roles or motive in the shooting are not clear.

A family member said that a man approached the porch before 6 p.m. and shot both the mother and child before fleeing.

The family told police they were receiving death threats due to increased police presence in the neighborhood since the shooting.

Originally, police believed it was a drive-by shooting, but have since determined the gunman was on foot.
