Missing Person More Info on Missing Fleming County Teen

Still no sign of a Fleming County teen who went hunting over the weekend and hasn’t been seen since. Monday night’s search wrapped up around six pm near Route 156, south of Flemingsburg.

The row of parked cars stretched about a half mile long down a gravel road: everyone was there for 15 year old Ricky Hamilton. Volunteers young and old from seven different counties participated in the search, riding ATVs, climbing ravines, cutting their way through brush.

“I’ve done all this for you. If you’re out there, let us know something,” said Andrew Justice, a friend of Hamilton’s.

Justice believes Ricky is still out there somewhere in the hills. But like a lot of Hamilton’s family members and classmates, he’s growing weary. No one has found any evidence of what happened to the high school sophomore.

Search crews called it a night when the sun set.

“We’re going to do a lot more of the same tomorrow, going to keep hitting the bushes, expanding our search, and just hope for a little bit better luck,” says Fleming County EMA Director, Dwayne Price.

Tuesday’s plan: dogs will be brought back to try and track Hamilton’s smell. Price, says the 15 year old’s scent was picked up near a highway, but the trail went cold.

“He may be a little farther away than we’re thinking,” Price says.

Hamilton’s dad, who was the last to see his son while the two were hunting Saturday, says there’s no way Ricky ran away, that he has to be nearby.

“The father’s been out here and helped us, but again, emotional, and that’s to be expected,” Price says.

Eight Wednesday morning, teams will be back out there, heading into the hills for the third morning, hoping it will be the last time.

State police and sheriff’s deputies are also involved in the investigation. We’re told they’ve talked to all the neighbors in the area. No one reported seeing anyone suspicious around the farms.
