GLADE PARK, Colo. – Search and rescue crews are still combing miles of open space in Glade Park after a woman went missing Thursday morning.
Patricia Osberg, 78, who suffers from Alzheimers, walked away from her home at 4890 Red Bluff Road around 9:30 a.m. and hasn’t been seen since.
Her husband, Allen, called authorities with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office at 10:10 a.m. and crews were on scene within an hour, searching for Patricia without any luck.

NewsChannel 5 went to the base of the search operations and spoke exclusively with Allen Osberg who says due to his wife’s condition, she has gone missing during walks before but was always found very quickly.
The two were inside their Glade Park home this morning before they planned to head to their daughters house for Thanksgiving dinner.
Allen says he was working on some bills when he realized the house was a little too quiet.
“I went out to the kitchen and she was gone. No place in the house. So I got into my vehicle and started driving the roads,” he said.
45 minutes later, there was still no sign of Patricia so Allen called 911.
“It seems to be, on average, [people in this situation] can make it about two miles an hour … so in just one hour we would be looking at 16 square miles in each individual direction,” said Ben Carnes with the Mesa County Sheriff’s Office.
Mesa County Search and Rescue crews have six different teams, including K-9 units, crews on horseback, ATVs, ground crews, communication and helicopters.
“We’re in a pretty remote area to find someone in so this is not a particularly easy search, but we’re doing the best we can,” said Carnes.
When Patricia left the house she was wearing a sky blue jacket with stripes on the sleeves, blue pants and walking shoes.
“The temperature is dropping … she’s going to be cold, probably thirsty, and I’m hoping they find her soon,” said Osberg.
Authorities say they plan on calling in additional personnel and resources as the search continues.
“I’m very thankful for what they are doing, they are doing an excellent job. Unfortunately, we did not find her as quickly as we had hoped,” said Osberg.
Patricia is 5′ 6″ tall 156 pounds with gray hair and brown eyes.
