Firefighters in southern Kentucky are fighting several fires, including a large one in Whitley County that threatened some homes overnight.
According to the Division of Forestry, there are three active fires in the area. One is a 50-acre fire in Whitley County. Officials say crews will likely be fighting that fire, named the ”Croley Cemetery Fire” because it’s in the area of Croley Cemetery, until at least Monday afternoon. Officials said they believe the fire is suspicious and is likely arson. It started a couple days ago and appeared to be controlled because of rain but flared back up Sunday. No homes were evacuated, and so far there are no suspects.

Officials say the other two fires burning are in Leslie County, which covers 15 acres, and in Rowan County, where a fire has burned one acre.
