A Kentucky man who sexually abused an 11-year-old Houston-area girl over the internet has been sentenced to prison time in Texas.
Anthony O’Shea was given a three-year term earlier this month, after his probation was revoked.O’Shea met the girl online, where the two would interact using the Playstation 3 video console.
The then-24 year old man enticed the pre-teen to send racy photos of herself. He used those pictures as leverage to extract hard-core pornographic poses.

It’s called “sextortion.” Former prosecutor Eric Devlin says it happens more than you might think. “Nowadays, with these (game) consoles, any predator can almost walk in your front door,” said Devlin, now a technology consultant with Attorney Tech Services of Houston. “And they do it through this electronic console that parents don’t usually understand.”
Devlin says the O’Shea case was a “first of its kind.” Law enforcement officers brought the suspect from Kentucky to face charges in Harris County. Originally, O’Shea was given probation. But on February 6, a judge ordered him to serve his time in Texas prison.
