Christopher Edwards, of Eutaw, Ala., pleaded guilty Thursday to aggravated identity theft.
Authorities say the four used stolen personal information and fabricated wage and withholding information to prepare more than 1,000 fraudulent tax refunds, worth more than $5 million. Officials say the four also established shell companies and bank accounts to launder the money.
