Identity Theft San Francisco Woman Arrested

A San Francisco woman was arrested on a series of identity theft charges after she was found with stolen property and multiple fake identifications while trying to rent a car at the airport, authorities said.

Denise Rohrbach, 29, was arrested Wednesday at the rental car facility at San Francisco International Airport, where officers arrived as she was reportedly trying to rent a car with a fake ID, San Mateo County Sheriff’s Deputy Rebecca Rosenblatt said.

Officers booked Rohrbach into custody about 10:40 p.m. after she presented them with false identification, and they went on to find a slew of other fake IDs, altered personal checks and credit cards in names that weren’t hers, Rosenblatt said.

In addition to the fraudulent items, authorities found her in possession of methamphetamine and other pieces of drug paraphernalia, and booked her into jail on charges of burglary, identity theft, possession of fraudulent documents, attempted auto theft, possession of stolen property and providing false information to a peace officer.

Upon her arrest, officers discovered at least six additional victims whose identity had been stolen by Rohrbach, Rosenblatt said. She remains in custody at San Mateo County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
