The 26-year-old Haitian native sold the data to an undercover agent on three separate occasions in January, April and June of this year, for which he received $2,000. He now faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000, but he could get much less.

The investigation was led by a team that involved agents from the IRS and the Department of Homeland Security.
