Brown is charged with identity theft, theft of government property and wire fraud.

Authorities say Brown was working in a Social Security telephone center earlier this year when he allegedly changed information to route benefits into an account that he controlled.

Prosecutors say the scheme involved personal information of 11 Social Security beneficiaries.

Court records aren’t yet available to show whether Brown has a defense attorney.
