A Montgomery County grand jury indicted a former Magnolia man who now resides in Houston on six counts of first-degree felony aggravated sexual assault of a child.
According to an offense report filed with the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, Robert Eugene Herbert, 53, allegedly sexually assaulted a minor younger than 14 on multiple occasions.
The case is a re-indictment of incidents that are alleged to have occurred when Herbert lived in Magnolia from 2006-07.

Herbert previously was convicted of aggravated sexual assault of a child May 29, 2007, in the 410th state District Court and sentenced to seven years in prison.
Aggravated sexual assault of a child is a first-degree felony punishable by five to 99 years in prison on each count.
Herbert has been in the Montgomery County Jail on a $250,000 bond since being arrested July 5.
