Missing Person 6 Day Old Baby Found Safe in Wisconsin

Wisconsin authorities confirm a missing 6-day old baby has been found safe at a gas station in West Branch.

Wisconsin authorities say Kayden Powell was found at 10:15 a.m. Friday. FBI acting special agent G.B. Jones said at a news conference the officer heard the newborn crying and discovered the child swaddled in a tote bag outside a gas station. Authorities say the child appears to be in good condition.

The baby was found across the street from a gas station where police arrested a person of interest in his disappearance Thursday. West Branch Police arrested Kristen Rose Smith of Denver, Colo. Thursday. She is currently being held on an unrelated warrant out of Texas.
