Two people have died, a third person was hurt and another person is charged with aggravated drunken driving after a five-vehicle wreck on Interstate 75 in Madison County Sunday.
Kentucky State Police said 22-year-old Meredith L. Buscher of Richmond and 30-year-old Jeffrey Campbell of Louisville died after being hit by a car on I-75. Police said the two had pulled over to help people involved in another accident when they were struck by a vehicle trying to avoid the car that was blocking the road.

KSP said the multi-vehicle collision happened around 7:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-75 near mile marker 92 when a white 1999 Ford Explorer operated by Bryan M. Mangan lost control colliding with a guardrail and other vehicles, and overturned, partially blocking the left lane of the interstate.
Police arrested 56-year-old Mangan of South Bend, Ind., and charged with driving on a suspended license and aggravated drunken driving. He was taken to the Madison County jail.
According to his citation, Mangan told officers he drank a few beers.
Jeffrey Campbell, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Madison County Coroner. Meredith Buscher was trasported to the University of Kentucky Hospital where she died as a result of her injuries.
Another person was hurt, 41-year-old Clifford H. Steinhauer of Thomas, Ky., who was transported to the University of Kentucky Hospital for treatment.
Mangan’s ex-wife in Indiana told LEX 18 Monday morning she briefly spoke to Mangan from the hospital Sunday night where he told her he was still in shock from what happened.
The collision remains under investigation, KSP said.
