Wrongful Death KSP Identifies Suspect Vehicle in Nelson County Double Homicide

Kentucky State Police investigators are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a vehicle and potential suspects in the murders of a mother and daughter at their Nelson County home last week.

KSP says a black Chevrolet Impala was seen traveling north on U.S. 150 from the Botland community into the city limits of Bardstown around the same time Kathy Netherland and her daughter Samantha Netherland were killed.

KSP believes the occupant(s) of this vehicle are suspect(s) in the case and are requesting help in identifying who they are.

A photo taken from surveillance video shows the vehicle police believe to be a black 2006-2013 Chevrolet Impala with windows that do not appear to be tinted.

Any information anyone has regarding this vehicle or about the investigation is asked to contact the Kentucky State Police in Elizabethtown.

48 year-old Kathy Netherland and 16 year-old Samantha Netherland were found dead by a relative in their home on Springfield Road in Bardstown in the morning of April 22. Police said there were obvious signs of trauma and that the two had been murdered.

Samantha was a sophomore at Bardstown High School and Kathy was a teacher at Bardstown Elementary.

Police say they have identified two trucks from the beginning of their investigation they believed to be involved, but have now ruled those out after further investigation.
