Missing Person Rosalyn Barns of Rusk County, TX

The Rusk County Sheriff’s Office investigation of a 54-year-old missing woman brings to four the number of missing persons cases the department is investigating.

The oldest stretches back to 2007.

Sgt. David Roberts of the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday that Rosalyn Barns was last seen about 8:45 a.m. Tuesday getting into a silver car on Texas 43.

When the car turned onto FM 1716, Roberts said, was the last time Barns was seen. The department is seeking help locating her.

Here’s a look at the other missing persons cases still open in Rusk County:

James Lamar Tidwell, 58, was last seen by his wife Feb. 24, according to the Henderson Police Department.

Police conducted a welfare check at Tidwell’s home Feb. 28 at the request of his employer, Flanders Electric. His wife then reported last seeing him four days earlier.

Tidwell’s truck was found about eight miles from his home on Texas 315 and FM 95 in Rusk County.

No physical evidence has been found to indicate foul play, but investigators said at the time circumstantial evidence pointed in that direction.

Cornelius Blalock was last seen April 2, 2008, after he fled deputies during a traffic stop on U.S. 59 in southeastern Rusk County.

Shirley Hunt, 70, disappeared from the Good Springs area in east Rusk County on June 19, 2007.

The Rusk County Sheriff’s Office and Texas Department of Public Safety searched Rusk CR 454 for several days after her disappearance but found no sign of Hunt.

Anyone with information regarding any of the missing person cases is asked to call Rusk County Crime Stoppers at (903) 655-8477 or the Rusk County Sheriff’s Office at (903) 657-3851.

All calls to Crime Stoppers will remain anonymous.
