Alabama’s attorney general says a northern Alabama man convicted of sexually abusing a 5-year-old girl has been sentenced to life in prison without parole.
Attorney General Luther Strange announced the conviction for Roland Gilbert Campos III on Tuesday.

Campos, of New Market, was convicted in mid-June of sexual abuse of a child and sodomy in Madison County Circuit Court.
Prosecutors say Campos had been dating the victim’s mother.
