State Police allegedly found 76 grams of cocaine stashed in a car during a traffic stop on Rte. 1 in Walpole, leading to a drug trafficking arrest.

Police arrested Antonio Deide-Irizarry, 26 of Dorchester, after allegedly noticing signs of illegal drug activity during a traffic stop near Coney Street on Rte. 1 on Monday around 4:30 p.m. A drug-sniffing dog reportedly alerted State Troopers Jay Vital and David Bouchard of the drugs after the officers say they discovered the driver’s existing trafficking warrant.

According to a State Police post, troopers searched the car after discovering the driver’s active cocaine trafficking warrant. Drug dog Rocky alerted them to potential narcotics near the radio in the car, where police say they found 76 grams of cocaine hidden in an aftermarket compartment built behind the radio.

Deide-Irizarry was arrested on the existing warrant and additional cocaine trafficking charges.
