Fort Madison man has received a 25-year prison sentence after pleading guilty to two counts of sexual abuse and one count of lascivious acts with a child.
The Burlington Hawkeye reports (http://bit.ly/1s1TecR ) that 70-year-old Roger Mendez was sentenced on Friday. He also pleaded guilty to three misdemeanors.
Mendez was ordered to register as a sex offender, enter a sex offender program. If he’s ever released, he must remain on supervised parole the rest of his life.

Police say that after Mendez was arrested in January, several other people came forward with accusations. Authorities say the guilty pleas are related to six boys, who ranged in age from 11 to 14 at the time of the crimes.
