Officials were out on the Kentucky River in Clark County Thursday afternoon after new leads on a cold case from 2006.
Officials searched a portion of the river between Boonsboro Bridge and the power plant near Four Mile Road in connection to the missing person case of Thomas Profitt, who hasn’t been since or heard from since 2006.
The Lexington Fire Department’s sonar was used to search for a vehicle in the river, but the search turned up empty.

Officials said they had planned to come out to the scene months ago once it was warm and it hadn’t rained for a while, but did not say what led them to that specific area.
They were on scene for about four hours and finished without finding anything at around 3 p.m.
