A 32-year-old man was arrested early Sunday on multiple charges of sexual battery and lewd and lascivious molestation on a child after she told police she had been sexually battered, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Michael Shull, who is listed as 6-foot and 340 pounds, remains in the Duval County jail without bail, according to jail records.

Police were called to a home at 5:40 p.m. Saturday, where they were told by a complainant that the girl had reported being sexually battered only an hour earlier, according to the arrest report. Detectives tracked down Shull and interviewed him at the Sheriff’s Office while investigators went to his home to search it and his bedroom, police said.
The girl also was interviewed, police said.
Shull’s brother, Christopher Lawrence Shull, said the charges are “untrue, unfounded and the accuser is falsely accusing him” in a brief Monday afternoon telephone interview.
A woman identifying herself as the suspect’s mother also said the child who made the claims against him lied to police. She said the girl has some family issues and lashed out against Shull, making up the allegations of sexual battery after learning about that behavior from a friend who had been abused.
