The man charged with killing a 12-year-old boy is being treated after he tried to take his own life.
Jail officials say 21-year-old Joseph Cambron attempted suicide last Wednesday.
Cambron is charged in the stabbing death of 12-year-old Ray Etheridge left for dead on Sept. 30 in a wooded area of Cherokee Park.
Police say the two knew each other and got into a fight before the murder. Police say Cambron admitted to stabbing the boy during the fight. He pleaded not guilty to murder.

The boy’s mother, Krystal Palazzo, said she had told Cambron to stay away from her son after he asked if the boy could spend the night with him about three weeks before the murder.
Davis said Cambron is being housed in the LMDC medical unit.
