A Knoxville woman is sentenced to 34 months in federal prison after pleading guilty in November 2013 to a federal indictment charging her with wire fraud and aggravated identity theft.
Sherri Michelle Rhodes, 42, used counterfeit checks at retailers in the Knoxville area. She obtained banking information from stolen mail. She used false identification cards with the same name as the account holder, but showed her picture.
The bank account information was processed electronically by Telecheck Services, Inc., in Houston, Texas.

Upon her release from prison, Rhodes will be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for three years she is also ordered to pay $522.63 in restitution.
