According to the Lexington Fire Department, Summer Marie Barnett was last seen in her bed at midnight. Her family says that they didn’t notice she was gone until a little after 3 a.m. on Saturday when they called the authorities.
Summer is ten years old and has autism, so instead of an amber alert, a golden alert was issued early Saturday morning and the hunt for little Summer began. The search ended just a few blocks from Summer’s home at a neighbor’s house. Mary Hall says her dog started barking at the back door Saturday morning and that’s when she saw summer heading out of her back gate. Hall quickly brought her inside.

“I just felt terrible that I didn’t search more myself … who would’ve thought … I made her cocoa and all the police came, the fire department took her away in their ambulance but anyway I’m surprised she didn’t freeze to death that disturbed me,” said Hall.
Although she may have an elevated body temperature, Summer seems to be fine.
