Missing Person 16 Year Old SC Girl

The Laurens County Sheriff’s Office says  a missing 16-year old girl has managed to contact her parents, but “sounded scared” after “horrifying” text messages were received.

Veronica Angelina Bobadilla of Laurens could be traveling to Texas through Georgia and Louisiana to meet someone she had been communicating with on Facebook, according to LCSO investigators.

Veronica’s parents said their daughter called Tuesday afternoon and told them she was on her way home — but when relatives did talk to her she “sounded scared” with a man yelling at her in the background.

Officials said Veronica is still considered missing because she has not returned home yet — and her parents said she told them it could take a while before she is able to return.

The search was launched after relatives who tried to contact Veronica said they got text messages saying, “I’ve killed Veronica. Stop texting her,” WYFF reported.

One friend, said: “We received the email off her Facebook … with horrifying news..”

Veronica’s relatives said that 2 calls they had with her were both worrisome.

“She was talking very, very low like she was scared and my brother called and said that he heard a man on the phone screaming at her, ‘Get up, cook my food, wash my clothes and clean my house now,'” her mom, Brandie McCuen told WSPA-TV.

Deputies say Veronica was last seen at her home on Conway Avenue In Laurens around 4:10 p.m. Monday.   Veronica recently asked her uncle how long it would take to get to Texas.

WYFF also reported that one of Veronica’s friends received a Facebook message from the teen saying, “I killed Veronica ya’ll want (sic) find her.”

Veronica is described as a Hispanic/white girl, 5’4″ and weighing 180 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.

If anyone has seen or know where she can be found you’re asked to please call 911, CRIMESTOPPERS at 68-CRIME or the Laurens County Sheriff’s Office at (864) 984-4967.
