Wrongful Death KSP Looking For New Leads in Officer Ellis Murder

It’s been two years since the murder of a Bardstown Police officer and now members of the Bardstown Police Department are hoping a video plea will provide fresh leads about the case.

KSP Public Affairs Officer Trooper Jeff Gregory hopes releasing the video on social media will encourage people to come forward.

“Social media is another platform that we can use to solve crimes by connecting immediately with a local, state and national audience through the Internet,” says Trooper Gregory.

The video features Officer Ellis’ wife, Amy, making a plea for information.

“He has moved on to a better place, yet we remain here with the emptiness of our heartbreak,” Ellis’ wife Amy says in the plea.

Trooper Gregory encourages the public to submit tips by contacting the KSP Elizabethtown Post at 270-766-5078. An email address has also been established at EllisCaseETips@ky.gov.

A reward fund for this case has reached $185,000 for tips leading to an arrest and conviction.
