A passenger on a two-seater jet ski is now the focus of a search and rescue effort.
Mercer County Dispatch received a call around 6:00 Sunday evening that a passenger of a jet ski went missing in the Kentucky River between Jessamine and Mercer Counties. The man is said to be in his 30’s and somehow fell off the jet ski and hasn’t been seen since.

The Emergency Rescue Team is using sonar equipment that is typically used for fishing to see if they can find him. Authorities tell LEX 18 that the cadaver dog is on its way. The rescue team plans on putting the dog on the boat to see if he picks up a scent. They plan to stay out until sunset and if the man is not found, they’ll return Monday morning to resume the search.
Lexington Fire Department has joined in to help with the search effort.
