Missing Person Michael Gorley of Lincoln County

The family of a Lincoln County man missing for 10 days hopes a $1,000 reward will lead to information in his disappearance.

Michael Gorley, 38, was last seen around 9 p.m. on May 17th. Gorley’s mother, Sandra Hasty said the man was wearing a pair of teal and white Hawaiian swim trunks, as he walked along Knob Lick Road toward Junction City.

“We don’t know what happened. All we know is he’s missing. That’s all that we can say is that he’s a missing person,” Hasty told LEX 18’s Josh Breslow on Wednesday. “I’m grieving. I’m devastated. I’m angry. Someone has taken my child away from me.”

Gorley lives with his mother in Lincoln County and he also takes care of her. She said she believes the father of two was attacked but she did not want to go into any more detail.

Kentucky State Police are investigating Gorley’s disappearance but they have not released any information on the case.

“My son would not worry me like this. He knows I’m not in good health. He would not worry me like this,” Hasty said. “We need to know something. Somebody reach into your heart and think of me as a mother.”

To get the word out, Gorley’s family has circulated fliers and created a Facebook page: “Justice For Michael Gorley.” They are also offering a $1,000 reward and selling decals with Michael’s name for $10, in an attempt to raise money to increase the reward.

“Someone come clean. I know there’s someone out there who wants to tell what’s happened. Don’t be afraid. Don’t be afraid to tell,” Hasty said.

Anyone with information on Gorley’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Richmond Post of Kentucky State Police at (859) 623-2404.
