Missing Person Two Charged After Remains Found in Pfafftown, NC Home

Two people have been charged in connection with a missing person investigation.

Jason Michael Mitchell, 34, and Mary Utleye Mitchell, 48, both of Pfafftown, are charged with felonious destruction of body/concealment of death.

The investigation was initiated by the Winston-Salem Police Department with the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office aiding.

During the course of the investigations, information was developed that led investigators to a home at 3555 Brookbank Drive in Pfafftown.

On June 26, the home and surrounding property was searched and human remains were discovered.

The human remains are being evaluated at this time and investigators are waiting on positive identification, the sheriff’s office said Wednesday.

Warrants for arrest for Jason Mitchell and Mary Mitchell were obtained on Wednesday.

Jason Mitchell and Mary Mitchell were placed in the Forsyth County Detention Center.

Jason Mitchell is being held under a $75,000 secured bond. Mary Mitchell is being held under a $15,000 secured bond.

The two are scheduled to appear in court on July 16.
