A 16-year-old Myrtle Beach area teen still has not been found since she was last seen at an area Chik-fil-A on the first day of school.
Marley McKenna Spindler, who lives in the Myrtle Beach area, left the Chik-fil-A on S.C. 544 near Surfside at around 7:30 a.m. Aug. 20, according to an Horry County police report.
Spindler left the restaurant to pick up a male named “Jeremy,” a 21- to 22-year-old she’d met on the beach about three weeks ago, the report said.
She left in her 2002 Ford Escape and planned to pick up Jeremy on Ocean Boulevard in Myrtle Beach, and then take him to an address in Garden City that lies in Georgetown County, and then return to school afterwards.

Spindler participated in a group text messages with friends after leaving, the last message at 8:42 a.m. That was the last anyone has reported hearing from her. Her vehicle also hasn’t been found.
The Socastee High School student never made it to class. A complainant and the victim’s father said in the police report that they called Spindler’s cell phone at 4 p.m., but couldn’t reach Spindler.
A clerk at Ocean Reef Resort in the 7100 block of North Ocean Boulevard answered, saying the phone had been found in the parking lot.
Police reviewed the phone and found there were calls from a number that was redacted in the report. Calls to the number produced a message stating the number was a text mail subscriber.
Spindler has been entered into the NCIC database as a missing person. She stands 5-8, weighs 100 pounds and was last seen driving a 2002 Ford Escape, four-door SUV that was silver and bore S.C. tags KFI776.
She was last seen wearing pearl earrings, long blue jeans, a white flowy tank top and gold Jack Rodgers Sandals, an alert from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children said.
Spindles was carrying a cross body purse, a Vera Bradley back pack and Vera Bradley lunch box, the center said.
