Wrongful Death Suspect in 2011 Laurel Co. Murder Speaks Out

Police have arrested a third person in connection to the 2011 murder of a Montgomery County man.

Natasha Martin was booked in the Montgomery County Jail Friday. She has been charged with murder and robbery in the death of 52-year-old Paul Brewer.

Martin did an interview with LEX 18 at the Montgomery County Jail, she was adamant that she did not kill him.

“I did not do that, I was not there, and the only people that can help me is Nickie Miller and Cody Hall to tell the truth,” Martin said.

Nickie Miller is Martin’s second cousin and Cody Hall is Martin’s legal husband, they are the other two people under arrest in the case.

Investigators say that Hall and Miller were prime suspects from the start of the investigation.

“For years I have always heard you know Cody and Nickie done this, but I personally do not know,” said Martin. “You know, I know what the town rumor is.”

The Sheriff says that Brewer invited two women into his house, and those women knew that Miller and Hall would later show up to rob him. Investigators say that during the robbery Brewer was shot several times in his bed.

Investigators say that the case broke when one of the two women linked to the crime came clean after she got into trouble.

Martin says that she has lied to the police, telling them what they wanted to hear, but now she says she is changing her story.

“I’m done lying, I am done telling stories just because I was scared,” said Martin. “I mean anybody in my position would have done the same thing. They are sitting there and telling you, ‘If you don’t tell us something, you’re not going home, you’re getting charged for capital murder.’ You tell them something and that’s what I did.”

“I just want everything to come out, the whole truth, not part of the truth, everything. So that this man’s family may have peace, this man can have justice,” said Martin.

Police say one more person will be arrested in the case.
