A Crab Orchard man is in trouble after police say he decide to set a fire for an unusual reason.
According to an arrest citation, the Brodhead Fire Department was called out to extinguish a brush fire on Poss Kingdom Road.
When they arrived, they found James Kidwell and officers say he smelled like burned marijuana. They also located a pipe with marijuana inside it on his person.

Kidwell told police he was trying to set a “pretty fire” like he used to when he was a little boy. When asked to elaborate further, he told police that the fire hadn’t hurt anyone and had not gotten out of control.
Kidwell was arrested shortly after admitting to setting the fire.
He was booked into the Rockcastle County Jail, charged with willful set fire on land not owned, public intoxication, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
