Identity Theft CA Couple Caught With Carload of ID Theft Evidence

For at least the second time in three months, a Lake Elsinore parolee and a Winchester woman have been caught with a carload of evidence suggesting mail and identity theft, this time in Temecula, according to law enforcement officials and jail records.

Most recently 25-year-old Jacob Bertino and 29-year-old Ashley Lawrence were arrested at 12:49 p.m. Thursday, May 12, and booked for investigation of committing a felony while on bail, possessing stolen property, identity theft, and drug possession, jail records show.

Deputies spotted them getting out of a car along Moreno Road, southwest of Interstate 15 and Rancho California Road.

After learning that Bertino was on parole, deputies searched the vehicle and found apparently stolen mail, credit cards, personal checks, ATM cards, California drivers licenses and identity cards, and amphetamine, Sgt. Chris Gaskins said in a written statement released Monday.

On Feb. 16, the pair was arrested in a Corona foothill community along the 3800 block of Holly Springs Drive, just below the mouth of Main Street Canyon, Corona police said at the time.

On that occasion, their vehicle contained apparently stolen credit cards, social security cards, altered checks, Amazon packages, and filed containing information on many people, investigators said.
