Wrongful Death Men Plead Guilty in Connection to Cincinnati Professor’s Death

Two men have pleaded guilty to their role in the death of a Cincinnati professor.

Kevin Howard and Charles Black entered guilty pleas in court in the death of Randall Russ. Both men were originally charged with murder, but the charges were reduced.

Charles Black pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of facilitation to commit robbery and two counts of tampering with physical evidence. Howard pleaded guilty to second degree manslaughter and tampering with physical evidence.

Black told the court that Howard to him to leave the professor’s home. When he returned, he found Randall Russ bound and gagged. He also admitted to removing the body and burning a mattress.

The family was visibly emotional but relieved that the trial was over.
