The Lexington man accused of beating his girlfriend and dismembering her body will face a judge Friday afternoon. Court documents now reveal what led police to check the area.
Patrick Ryan Jones, 24, is accused of killing Haley Bourgeois, dismembering her body and placing her remains in two different dumpsters at an apartment complex on Malabu Drive.
Bourgeois’ body was discovered Thursday morning and police quickly arrested Jones. Jones is the father of one of Bourgeois’ children. Detectives say that through the investigation, they determined that on Wednesday evening, Jones got into an altercation with Bourgeois. They believe he used a blunt object to assault her.

Police say that Jones contacted someone and admitted to killing Bourgeois. According to court documents, the same person witnessed Jones putting the body into trash dumpster. The witness notified police.
He is charged with murder, tampering with physical evidence, and abuse of a corpse and will be arraigned Friday morning in a Lexington courtroom.
The victim’s children are currently in the custody of the suspect’s mother.
