Wrongful Death Two Bodies Found in Linn County, KS

The bodies of two Linn County residents have been found in a field near the hometown of the man accused of killing them.

According to a release from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, two bodies believed to be those of 87-year-old Betty Mcnabb and 65-year were found late Tuesday night buried on a rural property west of Pittsburg, Kansas.

Thirty-one-year-old David Mcnabb was arrested on Monday for the murders of 87-year-old Betty Mcnabb and her son, 65-year-old Kenneth Mcnabb. David Mcnabb is the nephew of Kenneth Mcnabb.

The Linn County Sheriff’s Office was called to the victims’ home for a welfare check after relatives reported them missing Friday evening. A search of the residence led authorities to suspect foul play.

The Mcnabb’s house is located in a rural area 10 miles north of the town of Pleasanton, a a small east-central Kansas town of approximately 1,200 people that sits alongside U.S. Highway 69 about 60 miles south of Overland Park.

At the request of the Sheriff’s Office, KBI agents on Saturday morning joined the investigation. A person of interest was located that afternoon. KBI communications director Melissa Underwood stated in a news release Monday that David Mcnabb had been arrested and charged in connection with the deaths of his uncle and great-aunt.

David Mcnabb is charged with second-degree murder, criminal desecration of a body and interference with a law enforcement officer.

The Overland Park Police Department, Crawford County Sheriff’s Office, Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks, and the Kansas Highway Patrol are involved in the investigation.
