Lexington Police are investigating the city’s latest shooting that has left one man wounded and a child dead. They now say two suspects have been taken into custody.
Family members tell LEX 18 that 2-year-old Nova Gallman was killed after being shot in the head. The shooting happened around 11 p.m. Monday night at a home on Kenton Street. Police say two men came to the door of that house and after some sort of altercation, the suspects fired several shots.

A man was hit in the leg and the stomach and a child was shot in the head. Both were immediately rushed to UK Hospital. The man is stable. After being rushed through two surgeries, Gallman died. The coroner confirms Gallman will be taken to Frankfort for an autopsy.
Police say the child’s mother was also inside at the time but she was not hurt. Police believe the male victim is her boyfriend.
Officials say two suspects were taken into custody after they checked themselves into a hospital for injuries they sustained during the gunfire. Their names have not been released. Police say they believe the two suspects knew the male victim.
