Fraud Investigation KSP Warning of New Phone Scam

Kentucky State Police are warning of a phone scam going around the Laurel and Whitley County areas.

Victims report they are receiving automated calls from Cumberland Valley National Bank saying their credit card has been locked. The message instructs people to enter their credit card and social security numbers to unlock the card. The calls seem to all be coming from the same phone number (844-201-8954).

State police are urging everyone to not answer calls from the number and to contact your bank if you experience questionable activity on your account.

If you are a victim of this type of scam, call law enforcement and your bank.
