The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says it was a three-vehicle injury accident involving a semi carrying lumber. The truck was owned by Hogsten Trucking in Hurricane, West Virginia.

The road was shut down for hours as crews cleared the lumber from the scene. A witness told LEX 18 that truck lost its load and hit the car, killing Smith.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help the family with expenses. Click here to donate.
