Wrongful Death Friends Remember South Broadway Shooting Victim

Friends remember a Lexington shooting victim killed Monday at an apartment complex.

Justin Jenkins was shot and killed at an apartment complex on South Broadway on Monday

Friends said that the 19-year-old was with a group trying to help another friend and bring him back to Frankfort when the situation turned deadly.

Jenkins was killed during what police call a confrontation between two groups of people.

Twenty-year-old Dylan Capps is charged with his murder.

Jenkins’ friend, 19-year-old Keegan Newton is charged with wanton endangerment.

Jenkins and Newton’s friend, Ravon Woodhouse, were there the afternoon of the shooting. He’s taking the news very hard.

“It all happened so fast, you know what I’m saying? It all happened so fast. I had no opportunity to tell people to get back. It was a blink of an eye,” said Woodhouse. “It’s just so hard.”

Capps and Newton will be in court in June.
