PHOENIX –
A 49-year-old Phoenix man has been accused of sexually abusing two young children, and has been arrested after 3 years on the run.
The investigation began in 2009. When police began investigating that case, they realized Camilo Gonzalez Villegas was a suspect in a separate sexual misconduct investigation back in 2003.

In that case, Villegas allegedly sexually abused a 4-year-old female. At the time, Villegas denied any sexual abuse and a polygraph test was inconclusive.
In 2009, police interviewed both the recent victim and re-interviewed the 2003 victim, and they reported several sex crimes had occurred. It was then Villegas fled to Mexico, court documents allege.
In May of 2012, authorities received information that Camilo Villegas was back in the United States. He was arrested on Monday in Phoenix.
He again denied the claims, and stated the victims were coached by their parents. However, since the victims didn’t know each other and were from different years, police booked Villegas into jail.
Villegas is facing 2 counts of sexual conduct with a minor, 2 counts of molestation, and 1 count of sex abuse. He is being held without bond.
