A Stratford man faces over 100 charges after allegedly stealing a family friend’s credit card and using it at food, convenience and department stores and gas stations, Stamford Police announced Monday.
The 23-year-old man, identified by Sgt. Peter diSpagna as Michael Anthony David of the 3000 block of Main St. in Stratford, allegedly stole the credit card out of the purse of an 84-year-old woman he knew.
Investigators were able to trace the purchases made and eventually pinpoint David as the alleged user of the card, diSpagna said.

The suspect was arrested in a hotal in Norwalk Monday night, he said. David faces a slew of charges, including 50 counts of second-degree identity theft, 50 counts of illegal use of a credit card, one count of third-degree larceny, one count credit card theft, one count of furnishing credit card fraud for more than $500 in charges and one count of violation of probation.
