Wrongful Death Bodies of Missing Johnson County Couple Found

Police in Johnson County say they have found the bodies of a missing couple after receiving new information about what may have happened to them.

Larry and Sandy Blanton were last seen in September 2012. Investigators say the couple’s bodies were found tonight during a search of their property.

The couple’s son, Willie Blanton, was labeled a “person of interest” in the case. He is in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center, accused of filling his parents’ prescriptions and forging their checks.

“I’ve been told they think I did something with them,” Willie Blanton told LEX 18 last year, while in tears.

Earlier this month, Sandy Blanton’s family began circulating a flyer, offering a $10,000 reward to anyone who provides information that leads to the couple and the arrest of whoever is responsible for their disappearance.

Private Detective Body Found on Side of Road Identified, Family Wants Answers

A Central Kentucky family waits for answers after a young mother was found dead Thursday on the side of a rural Fayette County Road. With the autopsy for 20-year-old Kyley Palmer pushed back until Saturday, those answers will take longer to get.

Palmer lived on and off in Jessamine County with her mother and her three children, ages 4 years old to just 6 months.

“She was a very special mommy and I liked her very much,” Palmer’s four-year-old son, Jase told LEX 18, while cradled in his grandmother’s arms.

http://liarcatchers.com/index.php

“She was truly a loving mother. She loved her children,” said Palmer’s own mother, Beni Parsons. “There’s been a lot of emotion because we had a lot of hopes for Kyley.”

Palmer’s family said the 20-year-old was a talented singer and dancer. Her mother had not seen her daughter since last week. Palmer’s body turned up Thursday afternoon along the side of Leeann Lane in Lexington.

“I don’t think she had reason to be there. I believe someone else did,” Parsons said.

Police have labeled the case a “death investigation.” The cause of death is “undetermined” and how Palmer wound up on that rural road remains a mystery.

“The thought of her suffering, that’s what bothers me,” Parsons said. “I can’t understand someone having no regard for human life.”

Parson said she has her own guess as to what happened, but with no clear answers, she and the rest of her family are left to wait.

Palmer’s funeral arrangements are still pending, though her family believes she will be buried in Berea.

Palmer’s family has set up two funds to help with funeral costs. The first is at People’s Bank in Berea. The other one is at Town Square Bank in Nicholasville. Both are called the “Kyley Palmer Memorial Fund.”

Insurance Fraud NC Man Sentenced in Huge Crop Fraud

A North Carolina man is headed to prison for his role in a $21 million crop insurance fraud.

Jimmy Thomas Sasser of Wilson pleaded guilty Wednesday to mail fraud, wire fraud, conspiring to make false statements and to threatening a witness. A federal judge sentenced him to four years in prison, a term reduced due to cooperation with investigators that led to other convictions.

Prosecutors say the 61-year-old former insurance adjuster conspired with others from 1996 to 2007 to falsify claims of weather damage to farmers’ tobacco. As part of his sentence, Sasser agreed to pay more than $21 million in restitution.

Private Detective Child Found in McDonald’s Parking Lot in Corbin

Corbin Police said Friday that the posting of a picture of a child who was found at a McDonald’s parking lot in Corbin Thursday afternoon on LEX 18’s Facebook page is what helped identify him.

Police say the grandmother of the boy, who has custody of the four-year-old, thought her daughter-in-law was with the boy and vice-versa. Joanne Lowe, 62, was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor. Investigators said the child has been placed in custody of the state.
